A LOOK AT THE PROCESS

In the making.

Project in progress

A custom project,
one revision at a time.

A customer shared an idea, and the project started taking shape. Follow the process from the reference image to our design and the first two prints. The second print was a step forward, but it still wasn't the version we chose to move forward with.

  1. Customer-supplied reference photo of a black-and-white hog-shaped piece hanging from a chair.

    Where it started

    The customer's reference

The image the customer shared to explain their idea. This is the starting reference, not a piece made by Crab Apple Orchards Customs.

  2. Our black-and-white hog-shaped design with personalized lettering.

    An idea takes shape

    Our design

The design we created after reviewing the customer's idea. This gave us a starting point for the first print.

  3. Close-up of the first black-and-white print, with uneven areas visible in the lettering and outline.

    Back to refining

    First print

Our first print didn't come out the way we wanted. It became part of the process of refining the project.

  4. Close-up of the second print, showing a more even surface and clearer lettering than the first print.

    Better. Still evolving.

    Second print

The second print looked much better, but we ultimately decided not to go with this version.

Background handwriting has been removed from the print photos.

THE STORY CONTINUES

More to make.
More to share.

This project is still in progress. Neither print shown here is the finished piece. More photos will show the next revisions and, eventually, the final result.
